at some point last fall i texted jeremy to inquire about visiting him in austin over president’s day weekend. he came back with something along the lines of “sure, but why don’t we do a national park road trip together instead”, which was honestly the perfect response. initially we had grand ambitions to make it all the way to the grand canyon, but after looking at work schedules and how much driving that would entail we decided to scale it back and stick to new mexico.
over the course of our week together we visited carlsbad caverns national park, guadalupe mountains national park, and white sands national park, and we spent three days in santa fe, wrapping up our trip with a day at the ojo santa fe spa & resort. i’ll write in more detail about each stop, including which trails we did, where we stayed, and all our thoughts and recommendations, but for today i want to share some of my favorite photos from our journey.
