this spring i got to serve on one of give 365’s grant review teams, and last monday was the night the finalists got to give their pitches to the full membership in the hopes of getting their projects funded.

in 2018 i had to pitch at the finals, so it was very nice to be on the other side of it this year and be able to sit in the audience and listen to all of the pitches as a voting member.

i also invited my friend jen along for the finals in the hopes she might decide to join give 365 herself. i knew it would be right up her alley, and after hearing the pitches and learning she could vote this year, she decided to join!

the finals were at the cmplx, a new gallery and event space on lamar, so the evening also gave me the chance to see it. it is a great space, and i look forward to attending more events there in the future.

other highlights included: riggs on a scooter / one of my art pieces came home / maciel’s lunch with sarah / checked out the new river garden park downtown / 901 fc match / finally watched a star is born / long run at shelby farms / had the theater to myself for captain marvel / skyped with ellie
