after how well my year in running began, it felt like it took me forever to get from 50 miles to 100. between quitting my job, travelling for 5 weeks, and moving halfway across the world, my running schedule was sporadic at best. i don’t think i went on a single run in the entire month of may and as a result had to completely overhaul my running schedule when i got back to the states.
the good news, however, is that now that i am back state-side, i am getting myself back into a routine. i’m not running very long distances right now, but the main point is that i am getting back to being consistent. i struggled so much with consistency during bangalore’s summer, so i am hoping memphis’ doesn’t throw me too far off my game. so far, so good, and i can feel myself getting stronger with each passing week.
as far as our running challenge goes, i am currently trailing nearly everyone by 50+ miles, but i am still on track to hit 300 by the end of the year, especially once i ramp up my mileage as we get closer to december’s st jude half. i’ve still got a long way to go, but as long as i stick with my program and pace myself, i should be fine. i’m hoping to cross the halfway point in another 6 weeks, so wish me luck!
xx
You got it, girl!
