sunday was the annual soulful food truck festival to close out black restaurant week, and my friend nubian was selling her cookies and cupcakes, so jen, lauren, and i decided to make a sunday funday of it and support her and other local entrepreneurs.

we got to clayborn around 1.15pm after a delicious brunch at rizzo’s and wandered through the food trucks to see what was on tap. i was very intrigued by who dat boilin’ dem treats’ crawfish nachos and would definitely be down to try them soon.

once we finished our outside round we made our way inside clayborn to see what vendors were set up in there. we found nubian and fawned over all of her sweet treats before seeing what else was in store.
after a jell-o shot and a quick overview, i bought a tote bag that says ‘embrace your inner memphis‘ and a pair of earrings and a bracelet from david quarles iv. i see myself giving him a lot more of my money in the future, and i anticipate purchasing more embrace your inner merchandise for friends in the future.

we picked up some cupcakes, said goodbye to nubian and bilal, and enjoyed our goodies in the i am a man plaza. the weather was gorgeous, and it was nice to chat and gossip while we snacked and watched kids running around.

i am so glad fellows brought the four of us together, and hopefully there will be many more sunday fundays in our future.
other highlights included: weeklong sleepover with fitz the dog / got a security system installed at my house / new memphis luncheon celebrating awesome memphis women / dinner and grizz game with jessi / grant review team meeting / lunch at the four way with freddy / girl time with katie milligan / grizz game with mama swami / curry bowl lunch with the parents / dear artist opening panel / first run in my new shoes
