48 of 52 / 2019: a chilled out thanksgiving and a restful long weekend.

i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: november has lasted forever. between the time change and thanksgiving falling so late in the month along with also having something every weekend this month i am feeling pretty wiped, so i was grateful to have 4.5 days off and only vague plans with which to fill them. i needed the mental break.

we closed early on wednesday, and i spent the next 4.5 days doing some combination of eating, sleeping, running, watching tv and movies, working on holiday cards, taking sol for long walks, and generally enjoying some alone time. i also saw harry potter and the chamber of secrets in concert with the symphony with laura and falls, and i ventured out to starry nights with chris and jessi.

it was exactly what i needed, and i am so grateful my job allows us the privilege of having so much time off. i know a lot of people who don’t have that, and i have all the sympathy in the world for them, because i desperately needed the time to recharge my batteries. it was a long month.
