india 2026: coimbatore + coonoor.

it’s been almost 3 weeks since we got back from this year’s india trip and i think i am finally ready to write about it. it was a whirlwind trip, visiting 5 places in 12 days, and while i never feel like there’s enough time i am always grateful for the time we get.

i’ll do recaps of each place we visited to keep these posts manageable, and today we’ll start with coimbatore and coonoor.

coimbatore.

it’s tradition to begin our visit with breakfast at one aunt’s house which is always delicious. in our 2.5 days in town we also had dinner at valarmathi, went for a run around race course with anu, had my favorite prawns for lunch, had a cousin night with anu and saranya, and had our traditional lunch at anganan.

it’s always nice to begin the trip in coimbatore because the slower pace gives me time to adjust to the time difference and because it’s of course lovely to be spoiled by my aunts πŸ™‚

coonoor.

this year my uncle really wanted to spend a few days in coonoor, and we were only too happy to oblige. it was so nice to spend a few days in the hills and breathe the clean air and go for long walks through the estates.

while there we also visited sims park, had drinks at hopscotch, visited my cousin’s house in kothagiri, and had lunch at cherrie berry. i spent a lovely afternoon reading in the front garden, we had a great time ogling all the houses, and i thoroughly enjoyed the cool weather.

these two places provided the perfect opportunity to ease into our trip, because once we left we were on the go for the next week. next stop: bangalore!

xx
