things have been pretty quiet on here other than my monthly recaps, so i thought i would give you a quick update on all the happenings.

spring has sprung. we didn’t have much of a winter here in memphis – according to me – but we have definitely turned the corner into spring. days are getting longer – and warmer – and flowers are in full bloom. i am enjoying the extra daylight and having more opportunities to run and am hoping it stays temperate for a few more weeks.

the first big trip of the year has been booked! my parents and i will be driving the pacific coast highway from los angeles to san francisco at the end of august! it’s a trip i have been wanting to do for a while, and when i floated it to my parents to see if they might be interested they jumped at the suggestion. i am still working out the details, but on my must-see list are bixby canyon bridge, big sur, hearst mansion, and redwood national forest. if you have any suggestions, please pass them my way!

summer conference is right around the corner. the biggest part of my job is coordinating our summer leadership conference for rising 11th and 12th grade bridge builders, and they are almost here! we have finished our first round of applications and parent orientations, we are almost finished interviewing for summer staff, and we are slowly getting all the details put into place. i am really excited about my first summer conference experience, and it is going to be here before we know it.

i am a co-captain for team rhodes this year. my friend jane started team rhodes 5 years ago for rhodes students, faculty, alumni, and friends to run together as heroes for the st jude memphis marathon weekend. when she moved to baltimore at the end of january, i asked her how i could help the team going forward, and now i am serving as team captain along with dillard! this is something i’ve been wanting to help out with for years, and i am looking forward to seeing how we do with meeting our goals.

and finally, I AM GOING TO SEE HAMILTON! after months of checking prices and hemming and hawing, i finally bit the bullet and bought tickets to see the show in new york [my first broadway experience!] the first week of october. i am still in shock a little bit, but i am also so ecstatically excited that i don’t quite know what to do with myself.
