my packing list for southeast asia + bombay.

before i left for southeast asia and bombay i wrote about my travel essentials that go with me on every trip. those made the journey with me, as did the below items.

packing cubes are a great invention. bangalore, india. april 2016.

the clothes:

7 assorted v-neck and crew neck t-shirts for daily wear; 2 nice tops for going out; 2 t-shirts for lounging and sleeping

2 pairs of shorts and 2 skirts for daily wear; 2 dresses for going out; 1 pair of running shorts; 1 pair of boxers

2 running singlets; 2 pairs of dri-fit cropped leggings; 2 sports bras; 2 pairs of socks

1 shawl

1 pair of rainbow flip flops; 1 pair of birkenstock gizeh sandals; 1 pair of toms; 1 pair of brooks running shoes

the miscellaneous:

laptop; nikon d3100 camera + 15-70 mm lens; sony cybershot point-and-shoot camera; iphone 6; earphones; kindle paperwhite; 2 physical books; sakroots sling bag; bag for dirty laundry; reusable water bottle; various chargers and toiletries

the gear:

osprey ariel 65l rucksack; north face surge ii daypack; eagle creek packing cubes

overall i was pretty proud of my packing. my rucksack was never too full or heavy, i used almost everything i carried with me, i managed to keep it all moderately organized even with all the unpacking and repacking, and i even had space for random souvenirs collected along the way.

how do you pack for longer trips? what are the things you can’t leave behind?

xx

Haha this reads almost the same as my packing list for when I recently went to Europe! With a few opt-ins and opt-outs for men, of course (I didn’t pack a shawl…).

I always take a bag for dirty laundry too, and a reusable water bottle is essential if you want to save the filtered water you get from various places. And headphones – you never know when you feel like breaking out the iPod!
