at the beginning of the month sarah texted me to say she was staying an extra month at her family’s condo in clearwater beach and if she bought me a ticket did i want to go down to florida for a few days? not one to look a gift horse in the mouth i obviously said yes, and we spent 4.5 days swimming and eating and laughing and generally adventure-ing.

we spent some time at the pool; we spent some time at the beach; we saw a few great sunsets; we made a few “let’s throw these things together and see what happens” meals [that all turned out great, if we may say so ourselves]; we ventured into st pete and checked out mazarro’s italian market [and yes we did buy matching t-shirts that say “there cannoli be one” with a picture of a cannoli below, they’re great] and sunken gardens [very cool] and the chihuly collection [and a glass blowing demonstration!]; we watched some tv shows and a hindi movie; sarah did work and i applied to jobs; we read our books; we went for a few walks; and we generally just hung out and enjoyed one another’s company.

it was a quick trip, but i loved getting to spend some time in the condo and see the places i’ve been hearing sarah mention all these years. what a gift it is to have such kind, thoughtful, generous friends in my life.
