august is always a bit of a beast for me — it’s too long and it’s too hot and it’s always a little bit miserable swimming through the heat and the humidity, but this year i spent most of it in memphis where even though it is still hot and humid my parents have central air and my friends have a pool and i don’t have to wait for the subway in stations that are sweltering. and now we have made it through and here are some highlights from the month gone by —

3.5 weeks in memphis, complete with visits to kwik chek, maciel’s, gus’s, central, casablanca, india palace, curry bowl, hard times deli, cafe india, petals of a peony, and probably more i can’t remember right now // snuck over to nashville for 3 days with my wright fam // pool days at dillard’s // sarah was in town for a few days // facilitated a staff retreat for choices // caught a show at theatre memphis with jen // chrystal was also in town for a few days // sneha came to nyc for a few days // annual visit to the us open
