between the olympics and a big conference we hosted, i hardly cracked a book the last two weeks, but i did manage to finish one in february.
a wrinkle in time by madeline l’engle. this is another one that so many read as children that i somehow missed. i bought the book sometime last year before i even knew it was going to be made into a movie, and after seeing the trailer i made sure to read it this month. it was a fast, entertaining read, and although i didn’t like meg in the book – i thought she was annoying – i think i will like her in the movie. i also had no idea this is the first book in a quintet, so i will hopefully borrow those from vince and sam in the coming months // 3 out of 5 stars
currently reading: working on robert jordan’s the fires of heaven, book 5 in the wheel of time series. i made great progress, reading nearly 400 pages in a week, and then the olympics happened and i was completely distracted. now that they are finished and we are on the other side of the summit we just hosted, i am hopeful i can finish it in the next few weeks.
next on the list: i am so excited to finally get around to jesmyn ward’s sing, unburied, sing.
