india 2025: bangalore.

bangalore is always where my deepest nostalgia hits. i first moved to the city when i was 22 and proceeded to live there on and off for the next 11 years. i made friends who are like family to me, and because of them a piece of my heart will always be in bangalore.

so much of the city has changed since i first lived there — the metro is progressively getting completed [even though it still doesn’t go all the way to the airport harumph]; restaurants and bars and shops have closed and new ones have opened [i will miss you forever, guzzlers]; there are constantly new apartment buildings and malls and flyovers [the mysore road of today is unrecognizable to me]. but even with all the change at its heart it is still the same, and i always cherish my time there.

as luck would have it we were in town for nilah and evika’s first holy communion, which meant a lot of chaos and also a lot of fun. apart from those celebrations, we also caught up with amai, sneha, nithya, and dorothy at maverick & farmer; we spent time with maanvi and andy at lavonne cafe and bob’s bar and also got to see their home; we spent a day at the farm with bern; we had a delicious yele oota meal at bheema’s; we had ice cream from naturals; we had a very peaceful morning walk through cubbon park; we scarfed down masala dosa at ctr; we visited raju uncle for new piercings; and we made a quick stop by blossom to pick up postcards.

no amount of time in bangalore will ever be enough, but we made the most of our four days and crammed in as much as we could before catching an overnight bus to goa.

xx
